Farm Cornwall is delighted to be working with The Royal Countryside Fund to bring its free Farm Resilience Programme to the Liskeard area this autumn.

Designed with the whole farm and farming family in mind, the programme brings together a group of local farm businesses to explore practical change and plan for the future through expert advice, peer learning and tailored support. The programme is designed to build confidence, improve financial resilience, productivity and profitability.

The programme will help farmers to:

• review their financial performance
• better understand the strengths of their business
• identify areas for improvement
• build confidence in planning for the future

The programme is not about telling you how to farm. Instead, it provides the time, information and support to take a closer look at your business, explore the options available and consider what the future of your farm might look like.

What does the programme involve?

Farm businesses taking part will have access to a series of four workshops, delivered by experienced specialists and covering a range of topics to support business planning and resilience. The workshops will be locally tailored, with opportunities to learn from experts as well as other farmers taking part in the programme.

Alongside the workshops, participating farms will have the opportunity to complete a Business Health Check with Farm Cornwall. This will involve looking at business data, benchmarking and key performance indicators, helping everyone involved to understand the figures and how they can be used to support future decision making. The Business Health Check is completed through an individual on farm meeting.

The programme is designed to be flexible and relevant to the farms taking part. We recognise that taking time away from the farm is not always easy, so the sessions will focus on providing practical, useful information and making the best use of your time.

The whole farming family, and others involved in the farm business, are welcome to take part.  When it comes to the workshops, families can attend together or nominate someone from the business to attend, depending on individual circumstances and availability.

Four workshops will take place between autumn 2026 and March 2027, with further details and dates to be announced shortly.
