Elizabeth Harris has kindly offered once again to help members create handicraft entries for the Western Area Agricultural Competitions.
This year, members can make a man's apron and/or a travel laundry bag, with Elizabeth on hand to offer guidance and support.
Whether you're an experienced sewer or simply fancy having a go, it's a lovely opportunity to get creative, learn new skills and enjoy some time with fellow members.

Join Farm Cornwall for a free breakfast bringing together farmers who have been affected by Bluetongue.
This is an opportunity to come together with other farmers over breakfast, share experiences and talk about what comes next. A local vet will join us to discuss the longer-term effects of Bluetongue, recovery and planning ahead, including what farmers may need to consider for their livestock and businesses over the coming months.
There will be plenty of time to ask questions and talk to others who have been dealing with similar challenges. The Farm Cornwall team will also be there to offer practical, confidential support.
A full breakfast and hot drink will be provided free of charge.
These events have been made possible with support from The Royal Countryside Fund, helping us to support farming families affected by Bluetongue.

Do you have bookkeeping questions relating to your farming business, Xero or QuickBooks? Join Georgina Stephens from PKF Francis Clark for an informal Farm Bookkeeping Q&A Session, designed to help you gain confidence and clarity with your farm accounts and day-to-day bookkeeping.
There will be an opportunity to submit questions in advance, as well as an open Q&A on the day. Georgina will offer practical advice and guidance, with tips to help improve bookkeeping processes and records.
Whether you’re new to farm bookkeeping or simply looking for answers to specific questions, this is an opportunity to get tailored support in a relaxed and friendly environment. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Join four Nuffield Farming Scholars from Cornwall and Devon for an evening of inspiring talks, practical ideas and discussion about the future of British agriculture.
Taking place at Cornish Camels, near Helston, the evening will bring together farmers and industry professionals to hear about research and innovations from around the world, and how these can be applied to farming businesses here in the South West.
The four speakers will explore a range of topics, including making better use of farmland, adapting to change, managing risk and reducing reliance on fossil fuels.
The evening will include presentations from Dave Oates, Peter Green, Edward Fane Trefusis and Stuart Oates, followed by a panel Q&A and an opportunity for discussion.
All profits from the event will be donated to Farm Cornwall.
Tickets cost £15 per person, including a Gear Farm pasty. Places are limited to 150, so early booking is recommended.

Come and join us for another of our popular Dyno Days, kindly hosted by D.G. Buscombe with Cornish Tractors, raising money for Farm Cornwall.
Bring along your tractor over 25 years old and put it to the test, measuring its actual horsepower and torque. It’s always a great get-together for tractor enthusiasts, with refreshments and plenty of friendly competition on the day.
We would also be very grateful for donations of cakes and offers of help on the day.

Following extreme winter storms and a summer of wildfires, this session is an opportunity for local businesses to share experiences, collaborate and consider how they can prepare for a wide range of emergency scenarios.
Led by Jamie Whitford-Robson, Emergency Management Manager at Cornwall Council, the session will cover situations including severe weather, flooding, fire, utility interruptions, disease, quarantine and evacuation.
The event is open to farmers, campsites and holiday providers and will provide an opportunity to discuss what is practical, what challenges businesses may face and how communities can work together when extreme events occur.
