Farming can be isolating, and many people in the farming community experience loneliness and mental health challenges. Our community groups were created in response to this, providing safe, welcoming spaces where people can connect and support one another.
Through these groups, we bring people together to share experiences, build confidence and feel part of a supportive network across Cornwall’s farming community.

Farm Cornwall, provides resources, advice, and a network of support for the farming community. They understand the unique challenges faced by those in the agricultural sector and work tirelessly to offer help in times of need. Farm Cornwall ensures that no farmer feels isolated or unsupported.

Cornish Ladies In Wellies, run under the umbrella of Farm Cornwall, is a vibrant and dynamic group that brings together farming women from all over Cornwall. Run entirely by volunteers this group is passionate about friendship and mutual support. The members regularly organize visits to each other's farms, enhancing their bond and sharing best practices. They also enjoy walks through the picturesque Cornish countryside, often concluding with a coffee where they can relax and discuss their experiences and worries. These activities are instrumental in reducing the sense of isolation that can be prevalent in rural areas. Our Facebook group has over 500 members and continues to grow. It is a private group for women offering a safe space for those that may need it. Our future and past events are listed on that page.

Farm Cornwall Next Generation focuses on the younger members of the farming community, ensuring that the future of farming in Cornwall is in capable hands. This group provides mentorship, training, and networking opportunities for young farmers. Those farmers aged 25 years to 40 plus years can feel particularly isolated and under huge pressures. By organising visits and opportunities to meet their peers and experienced farmers, Next Generation offers support and guidance if needed. Coffee and cake are also a staple, offering a relaxed environment for young farmers to share their aspirations and challenges, further reducing the feeling of isolation. Our Next Generation Facebook group has over 350 followers and lots more engaging to see what events we have and reaching out to each other.
