Do you have an interest in the farming community and understand the value of a charity like Farm Cornwall?
Can you contribute specific expertise and knowledge to the Board from your professional background (accountancy, law, veterinary, auctioneering services, etc), or as a stakeholder (supplier, funder, client)or other experience as a charity trustee?
Are you able to attend between 4 and 6 Trustee meetings per year(some in person, some virtually)?
As Farm Cornwall prepares to enter its 25th year, the charity is looking to recruit some more Trustees who have a passion for the charity and what it stands for. Chairman of the Trustees, Richard Thomas, explains a bit more:
As Chair of Trustees of Farm Cornwall I have been involved with the project, in its various forms, since created in 2001. In my day job, I run a mixed farming operation with dairy, beef, cereals and a potato growing and packing operation and have leadership roles in other farming-related organisations. I have remained involved with Farm Cornwall for almost 25 years due to the invaluable support it offers to people in the rural community. I am passionate about the project and the work it does.It is a project unique within the farming support network, and this continues to be recognised nationally. We are making good progress in implementing the key recommendations of the review. The recruitment of new trustees will be another significant step forward in securing the future of the charity.I, and my colleague trustees, look forward to engaging with you in that process in the coming weeks, and we thank you for your interest in Farm Cornwall.
The attached information provides further details on what is involved, who Farm Cornwall are, and what sort of people we are looking for. Please get in touch if you would like to know more, we would love to hear from you.
