FarmCornwall & The Prince’s Farm Resilience Programme
Due to recent restrictions, it has been decided to postpone the remainder of the 4th Group Resilience Programme sessions until later on in 2021. We will advise participants when we have new dates. We are, however, continuing to recruit for the 5th round of the Resilience programme to be run at the Royal Cornwall Showground. If you are interested in taking part, please see the contact details below.
The programme is open to farmers from one man units to businesses where there are 3-4 people working on farms. It is not open to hobby farms or large agri businesses.
The programme is free to all who attend and will consist of 6 workshops and one summer farm visit.
Workshop 1 Benchmarking with Andersons Consulting. All participating farms will receive a visit from an IAgSa farm secretary to collect data for the first workshop. All data collected is confidential and processed by Andersons Consultancy and passed back to the farmer on the day of the workshop where the farmer will be compared with others in the room but identified only by a letter. The process has worked well in maintaining confidentiality.
Workshop 2 Better Cost Control with Kite Consultancy
Workshop 3 Understanding accounts and finances with Promar Consultancy
Workshop 4 Understanding the Environment new ELMs with Oakbank Consultancy
Workshop 5 Planning for the future and succession with Saviour Associates
Workshop 6 Business planning for Change with Savills Consultancy
Workshop 7 Farm Visit or Walk
Coronavirus
Although the Farm Cornwall office is now closed again due to the latest lockdown, we are working from home or the office and will continue to support you as best we can during the current situation. As before, we will limit farm visits to an absolute minumum (for mental health need or similar) – otherwise all contact will be via Zoom, Teams, Skype, email, phone, etc. Covid cases in Cornwall have risen markedly since Christmas and I know many of our farmers are shielding elderly relatives or may have health issues of their own. Stay safe.

Interested in taking part?
We are currently looking for farm businesses to take part in the programme which is open to family farms whose main enterprises are dairy/beef/sheep or pigs. Many of the farms who participate are mixed, with more than one on-farm enterprise, including diversification to help bring in an additional income. The programme is open to both owner occupied and tenanted farms, on conventional or organic systems and the typical farmer is a one or two person system, eg Father Son, Mother Son, Two brothers or just the farmer on his own. Please also make it a family affair the business is about the family so wives, partners, daughters, sons are all welcome.
If you are interested in taking part or would like some further information then please contact:
Edward Richardson on edward@farmcornwall.co.uk or call 07775 667825 or visit http://www.princescountrysidefund.org.uk/farmresilience
