Farming with Nature with Cornwall Wildlife Trust
Cornwall Wildlife Trust is running an event next Thursday 28th March at Lostwithiel Community Centre and I’d be grateful if you would share it with those relevant. Some of you have done so already and thank you, a final push would be much appreciated!
It’s an engagement event for our new FiPL funded project. For this project, we can support farmers in Cornwall National Landscape Sections (AONBs): Hartland, Pentire Point to Widemouth, Camel Estuary, South Coast Central, South Coast Eastern and Bodmin Moor.
We can support farmers in various ways through the project including:
- Specialist business advice on farm change options: modelling habitat creation/restoration alongside productive management
- Offering a UK Habitats Classification Survey which will support a BNG / Carbon Management plan
- Advice on habitat and soil health improvements linked to funding opportunities (CS, SFI, FiPL, EWCO)
- Assessment of opportunities to engage with the local community through access improvements or other measures
- Identification of heritage features with opportunities for conservation, enhancement or interpretation
- Graphic modelling to show farm habitat and production change over time
- Guidance on open water (ponds and scrapes) creation
