Cauliflowers
Cauliflower crops are being harvested as normal and trade is 41p . A report from the Fruit Produce Journal would indicate a drop in sales of all veg of 1.5% across all sectors. Sales over Christmas due to the mild weather have shifted from the traditional winter warmer vegetables to salads. Consumers are also looking to value products and added value products. Produce in the middle that doesn’t fit into those catagories is losing out .
February and the crop availability is limited as the heads are too small for sale. The level of activity in the fields has slowed down.
